What’s more, BCBS companies have established Blue Distinction® Centers+, a distinction available only to facilities that meet both quality and cost thresholds. Total knee and hip replacements performed in Blue Distinction Center+ facilities offer 24 percent average savings when compared to non-Blue Distinction Center+ facilities. More than 550 healthcare facilities have earned the designation for high-quality knee and hip replacements in most major metropolitan areas across the country.
