In this video, Kevin Conlin, chairman, president and CEO of Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBS of New Jersey), says we’re at a crossroads in healthcare today.
“I know that there are many challenges,” he says, “but we finally have the tools in place to actually serve the needs of our members much more effectively than we have in the past.”
For example, Conlin says his health plan has been able to apply sophisticated analytics to better understand the needs of members in four at-risk ZIP codes. That knowledge is helping Horizon BCBS of New Jersey deliver specific services to improve their lives. The health plan has also been able to improve care by partnering with doctors in new ways to encourage the delivery of the highest quality, most affordable care.
