Matt All, president and CEO, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, on focusing on the moments that matter most in healthcare

Published November 19, 2019

Matt All, president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBS Kansas), grew up in Kansas. Most employees are from his home state, too. And that’s why he says the company is motivated to keep Kansas communities healthy. All says one way to do that is to enable members to focus on what matters when they’re faced with some of life’s most important moments, many of which take place within the healthcare system.

“Some of them are wonderful,” says All, “like the birth of a child. Some of them are very difficult, so we meet people there in those meaningful moments. If we do our jobs well, we allow people to focus on the more important things.”

To do that, All says BCBS Kansas builds unique partnerships with doctors to deliver the highest quality care. Over the next decade, says All, healthcare must continue to evolve to become more affordable and even higher quality, without losing sight of the communities it serves.
